What is the Marketing Ecosystem?

Oftentimes we use the term “marketing ecosystem” when talking about a business’s marketing strategies, so what does it mean?

In general terms, the marketing ecosystem means the way that each of your different strategies complements each other to bring you the biggest return on your investment. For example, strong social media content will bring customers to your website, then once those customers reach your website, your strong website content will push them towards a sale.

Without strong website content, once people reach the site they may be tempted to leave. Without strong social media content, they may not even make it to the site!

The three main parts of the ecosystem are:

SEO

  1. Your Business’s Website
    1. Blogs
    2. Content
    3. Structure
  2. Search Engines
    1. Google
    2. Bing
  3. Video Optimization

Social Media

  1. Videos
    1. TikTok
    2. YouTube
  2. Social Media
    1. Facebook
    2. Instagram
    3. Twitter
    4. LinkedIn

Target Marketing

  1. Email Marketing
  2. Paid Ads
    1. Google
    2. Facebook
  3. Any Online Publicity
    1. Contests
    2. Press

At the center of all of these parts is your content. If any part of the ecosystem has weak content, then it will make the content in other parts of the ecosystem weaker as well.
